The massive stretch of ocean between Polynesia and Chile is home to a TON of circulating marine debris that unfortunately ends up on the windward coast of islands like these—- 🌎
So we decided to clean it. We found mostly old plastic ropes and bottle caps more than anything else. All small enough to easily be mistaken for something on the food chain.. 😓
It took us an hour of walking but it feels like we made a difference. Even though it’s only 500m of a tiny atoll it may help save the local sharks and fish from plastic ingestion until the next plastic wave hits..
