This is what it takes to go offshore for 30 days ⛵️🌊🌎
I’ll be spending the next month alone at sea as I sail from Costa Rica to the Marquesas 🌴
I cannot begin to note how helpful it is to be in a marina for this process.. just the amount of food to be transported out to the boat it mind boggling.. so I chose @peninsulapapagayo to help with the process.
They’re super well protected from the strong winds that blow out of Nicaragua 🌬️ and in addition to the clear water, the marina is surrounded by jungle full of howler monkeys! 🐒
So..
To get ready for a crossing like this, there is a massive to do list: check the engine, Watermaker, refrigeration, wash the boat, test the rigging (for split pins), fill the tanks with water, buy new fishing lures, take on an obscene amount of food, clear out of customs, store everything onboard, re-rig the boat…
But once the sails come up and the engine turns off, all the hard work is forgotten.
