The SEA MEETINGS have resumed at our Club: on Friday, March 20th, Alessandro Tosetti on ASPRA took us on a journey of 200 days and 200 nights around the world. With over 100,000 miles of sailing behind him, in 2025 Alessandro successfully completed a solo circumnavigation of the globe by sail, entering the registry of the prestigious “International Association of Cape Horners” as one of the first ten Italian sailors to have rounded Cape Horn during a solo circumnavigation. From the start of the 1st edition Global Solo Challenge to the crossing of the 3 capes – Good Hope, Cape Lewin, and Cape Horn – up to the return to Sanremo as ambassador of our twinning with the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS). The evening was an opportunity to learn how to prepare a boat to tackle a world tour – from onboard equipment to pantry to safety, to which the innovative luminescent step-marker installations contributed – both in terms of safety in dark spaces and emotional support. We thank Alessandro and all the participants of the evening, organized together with the Famija Sanremasca, moderated by the science communicator and former Sea Consul Gianni Manuguerra, curator Raffaella Ramondetti.
