How can YOU start sailing the world?!? ⛵️🌊🌎🌴
It’s easier than you think, most people just don’t know where to start..
First, I’ve just written a new e-book, HOW TO CROSS AN OCEAN, that covers everything I’ve learned from a lifetime at sea and all the shortcuts I wish I knew when I started sailing ⛵️ [Link in my bio 👆]
But I’m not here to gatekeep. If you want to start sailing today— these are the best three ways to begin:
1. Sailboat Hitchiking (no money, no boat)
– search Facebook groups for ocean crossings or captains looking for crew
– no requirements or experience necessary, just be a good person and be adaptable
– background check any captain you’re planning to sail with! ‼️
2. The professional route: get a Yachtmaster or USCG license.
– they have different requirements but you can start getting paid to be a captain on charter or private boats!
Pair that with the STCW and ENG1 and you’re good to go!
3. Buy a CHEAP boat!
– do not spend 100k on your first boat. Buy something for $5k and let it teach you to sail.
– everything will break but you will become more capable and confident because of it.
Then, if you want to learn- go buy the book, it will teach you everything!!

If someone had given me this book when I started sailing I’d be years ahead of where I am now 🙏
