Had a great time racing in the Pacific Cup race on the Schumacher 39 ‘Recidivist’. Huge thanks to owner and skipper Rob Reis for having me onboard and for placing a lot of trust in me to help shape the program. It was the first time that I’ve been handed the keys to a program to help shape the crew, navigate the boat, and call the shots as the lone pro onboard. To work with a very new program and to cross the finish line 1st in class and 3rd overall was a huge accomplishment and thrill for us, and one that was unfortunately short lived as the boats behind all brought in more pressure and we could only watch our standing in the fleet slip away until we were 3rd in class and 12th overall. That is yacht racing however, and that stuff happens. What an awesome journey, great and competitive race, and amazing boat. Massive shout out to the whole crew, we worked hard, sailed well, got along famously and kept our eyes on the prize until the end. Cover shot credit to @leialohacreative.
