¿La mayor siempre se sube proa al viento?
Últimamente me encuentro con muchos navegantes que lo tienen grabado a fuego: para izar la mayor, proa al viento.
Pues… no siempre.
En la Mar, más que aprender reglas de memoria, conviene entender por qué hacemos las cosas.
Me gusta la gente que pregunta, duda y piensa. Incluso cuando al final descubre que el profesor tenía razón. 😜

Does the mainsail always have to go up head to wind?
Many sailors have this rule firmly engraved in their minds: to hoist the mainsail, point the boat into the wind.
Well… not always.
At sea, rather than memorising rules, it’s better to understand why we do things.
I like people who ask questions, challenge ideas and think for themselves. Even when they eventually discover the instructor was right. 😜
