ITCZ is looking very tricky

I’ve been studying hard and scratching my head as to the best plan to get
through the ITZC. The Inter Topical Convergence Zone, aka The Doldrums, is
part of the challenge of passing from north to south, and visa versa, for
any sailor. Usually there is a fairly clear solution as to how best to
navigate through this patch with vast areas of no or little wind. Looking at
best plan for me nothing is standing out. I think for now the best thing for
me is levee my options open and head south pointing best as I can towards
the middle of the Cape Verde islands and check the GRIB’s again.

5 star muesli and tunes

Two cheeky little gybes this morning, and now just had a bowl of blinged up
muesli. How can you sparkle up muesli I hear you say, well try this. Dates,
sultans, blackcurrant powder, dried coconut milk and then a good lashing of
Nikki Grant’s early season runny honey. Just add water, and for good measure
I but an Ibiza Classic Mix on the tune machine. Epic. Very happy Daf

Are there any obligatory “gates” along the course? Or is it an “Open”
passage? Is Bendigedig restricted to follow the Red course track?
Good morning Nick, there are no gates that we need to pass through, however
e do have a set of Sailing Instructions (available on the GSC website under
the GSC 23/24 tab) In the course is set out n detail, basically leave the
Three Capes, to port and observe the rules about the AR Antarctic Region and
IL Ice Limit.
The Red Line is what the Yellow Brick trackers re monitoring against.
Hypothetically, if you programmed YB from A Coruna to A Coruna it would
calculate Distance To Finish as zero. To avoid this a “course” is programmed
in and then it measures to the next waypoint.
