The St Helena high pressure system blocks the way of the chasing pack

With Philippe Delamare holding tight on his first place in the virtual rankings, Cole Brauer and Ronnie Simpson are under renewed attack from Dafydd Hughes who had slipped off the virtual podium aftern hitting a light wind patch in the Indian Ocean. Today Dafydd reclaimed his third place at Ronnie’s expense and narrowed the gap with Cole. Now the situation seems to be getting complicated not just for the two young american skippers but for all the boats in the two groups of boats which had departed on the 21st and 29th of October from A Coruna. The St. Helena high pressure could lead to the formation of a vast area of light winds which could slow considerably the entire group in the region letting those ahead and behind make relative gains.
